Home to The National Museum of Gardening. housed in the original carriage house. Britain's largest and most comprehensive collection of garden antiques, memorabilia and ephemera creatively displayed within a purposed designed museum. Exhibits date from 1800 onwards.
The current owners purchased the estate in 1994 and have started restoring the Estate and Gardens to their former glory. The old woodland gardens have been cleared, the lake dredged, the formal Italian Garden and the Fountain Garden Conservatory restored.
The gardens include numerous specimen shrubs and trees, a stunning bluebell valley, bog garden, an ornamental lake with a Listed Victorian Boathouse and formal cascade, extensive Pinetum, formal sunken Italian Garden, Serpentine Yew Tunnel, Bamboo collection, Rockery and Grotto, and the walled kitchen garden.
